DIY firewood stacker
duration:

A neatly stacked pile of firewood is not only immensely satisfying but will go a long way in transforming an outdoor space. All that is needed to make this stacker is a concrete cinder block, four fence palings and your favourite Resene paints − no hammer, nails, screws or drill required.

You will need:
- One concrete cinder block
- Four fence palings (1500mm length x 150mm width x 19mm depth)
- Your choice of Resene paints, we used Resene Red Oxide, Resene Amulet and Resene Bush

Step 1 Measure and cut four fence palings (1500mm length x 150mm width x 19mm depth). Smooth any rough edges with sandpaper and wipe with a clean dry cloth

Step 2 Paint two of the palings in two coats of Resene Amulet and the other two palings in two coats of Resene Bush.

Wipe the concrete block to remove dust or dirt and paint the block in two coats of Resene Red Oxide. Don't forget to paint the inside too!  Allow to dry between coats and after the final coat.

Step 3 Stand the planks up inside the concrete block.

Step 4 Stack your firewood into your new stacker.
